Rodrigo Fernández

Rodrigo advises in the area of EU and Competition Law, including unfair competition. He handles merger control and foreign direct investment (FDI) assessments, as well as proceedings before the CNMC, among other matters.

Rodrigo joined Araoz & Rueda in 2025. Prior to joining the firm, he worked as an Associate Lawyer in the Competition and EU Law departments of Gómez-Acebo & Pombo and Grimaldi Alliance in Brussels (2022-2024). During this time, he advised clients on merger control notifications before the CNMC, state aid compliance, antitrust matters under Regulation 1/2003, litigation before the General Court of the EU, and provided legal counsel before EU bodies. He also contributed to studies for the European Commission on antitrust remedies.
